Testimonial Situation
By Dan Cavalli

The testimonial situation arises when we don’t know if the recommendation is true or false. When one comes from most of the hype and sales promotion on the Internet it can cause worry and concern. Nearly every new promo has top recommendations and testimonials to sell its virtues but are they true? Have you ever wondered how it is possible to get such fantastic testimonials and recommendations when the product claims it is new and just released or never seen before? I have!

I probably have sold more than $200 million worth of revenue and over the past 2 years I have a 90% retention and customer repeat business with an average of 12 sales per customer per year and I haven’t been able to get recommendations from my customers and subscribers until they have seen or more to the point used the product or service I was offering. This testimonial situation perplexed me.

So I did a little testimonial situation investigation about how these promoters get these fantastic testimonials when the product is supposedly new and not seen before. Surprise, surprise as it turns out, most of these promoters are liars and should be put on forums and community sites to shame them.

Here are a few points I found from my research of the testimonial ordeal from ‘The Attention Age Doctrine’. It reported that on some sites:

- Testimonials are fabricated and have no basis of fact
- Testimonials were not from a real person
- It’s illegal but people still do it
- Some video testimonials are from friends helping out
- Slugs that have friends make false Voice testimonials

Conversely, and to be fair there are legitimate ways without the testimonial situation to gain recommendations in order to launch a special product. But for the majority of these charlatans they have no morals at all. They don’t have access to legitimate ‘maven’ launching of their products. This gives the rest of the ethical Mavens a bad name in the community as a whole. It’s this sort of behaviour that makes people wary of true marketers and providers of quality products and services.
